    Summary: Oldie but Goodie
Comment: This was my first PDA, bought via E-bay (sorry for the Ad, but that's the truth)in 2003. It was great for the things I used it (freshman at the University, so I had to make many essays), although it only had "Note taker" for that. The Excel sheets had to be done in another program (SpreadCE, great software). The problem was that there wasn't enough memory in the device to store many programs or files, but once I bought a CompactFlash card (first of 128 mb, after that of 512 mb) this wasn't a problem anymore! Another problem was the software made for the device. There isn't much, so you don't have as much options as with other PDAs, but the one that exists is (mostly) great, although many times you'll have to obtain it via "unorthodox" methods, because the companies that created them don't exist anymore, or don't handle them.
Why did I stopped using this wonderful item? Because the port that connects it with everything else (craddle, modem, keyboard) broke appart from the mainboard (??) of the PDA. After 2 months in repair, and the technicians clueless of how to make it work again, I decided that it was time to move on... it indeed was like loosing a true friend.
I'm using now a E-125 (of Casio) and many of the features of the older E-100 are missed, like the natural background image (I had to download a program to use my old images in the E-125 as backgrounds again), or the simplicity of the JOT reader (the E-125's JOT reader is far more complicated than the E-100's one), but anyway, it's something alike, but with more software available.

Comment: I bought my cassie when it first came out years ago, when it was $500, plus accessories! I still don't have a desire to get anything more. There is one exception. If I ever need to go wireless, and although I could add the necessary accessories to my cassie, I might rather buy a new, smaller PDA with built in communications capabilities, like the Blackberry, or even one of those PDA phones.

Comment: I started out with a Palm V and thought it was the best ever. Even the green screen didn't put me off I just loved it. It was the first time I could truly say I was organised. Later I bought the Palm 515 and this had colour and was good, but it had no sound so I bought an iPAQ which had sound but felt the loss of the Palm OS was tragic (now using the far less stable Windows CE) still I continued and enjoyed the sound and movie playing on my iPAQ. Then I bought the E-100 second hand (the price was good so I grabbed it), and found that I like it best of all, mostly because of the TFT screen with more colours than the iPAQ, the feel of it in the hand, and built in expansion taking compact flash cards which means unlimited memory. Compact flash is less expensive and more common than the MMC (compact flash 2)cards used by Palm. These expansion packs you have to buy as an extra with the iPAQ.
Programs are hard to get for the E-100 but when you get one that works it is good. The programs look good and feel good to use. The battery lasts all day in the E-100 even though it was already used before I bought it, but iPAQ only lasts a few hours and this unit was brand new. In my opinion the E-100 is a brilliant PDA and I would like to see later incarnations of this unit. I still have two iPAQs but really love my E-100. I hope this is of some help to you.

Summary: Great mp3/vid player but NOT a good game system.
Comment: The cassiopeia E-100 is a great mp3 and video player! (very easy to use the win CE player) All you have to do is go to casio's website and look up E-100 and they have a link to Microsoft's download page for the winmedia player for CE.
After that you just install the player on the cassiopeia; drag and drop all the mp3s you want in to the /my documents folder and when you run out of space on your E-100 just get a compact flash card (DIRT CHEAP on EbAy) and drop it into the expansion slot and your ready to go! The only
problem with it is there is ALOT of problems loading games on it
so if your looking for a "gameboy/pda" get a Palm IIIc (I also have a Palm IIIc and that is a GREAT game system but that cant play mp3s)
